HRM Queen Vickylextar Honoured with The Beijing Legacy For Global Advancement Award At UN CSW69

New York, NY – March 21, 2025 – Her Royal Majesty, Queen Vickylextar, the reigning monarch of the Omanye Royal Kingdom, was honoured with the prestigious Beijing Legacy for Global Advancement Award at a momentous ceremony held at the Nigeria Consulate in New York City on March 21, 2025. This distinguished accolade, presented during the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), celebrates exceptional multigenerational leadership in the advancement of women, gender equality, and gender harmony.

The award ceremony served as a powerful culmination of the Omanye Royal Kingdom delegation’s incredible participation throughout UN CSW69. During the week, the delegation engaged in vital sessions and dialogues, forging connections with key stakeholders to cultivate long-term partnerships and explore collaborations aimed at empowering women and fostering sustainable development.

Hosted by the Nigeria Consulate, in collaboration with China, the ceremony was a transformative event that paid tribute to trailblazers who have made significant contributions to advancing the cause of women worldwide and driving sustainable development. The evening featured a rich program, including a keynote address that explored “Bridging the Past and Future: Lessons from the Beijing Declaration for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” and an expert panel discussion delving into “Implementing Change: The Road from Beijing to 2030.”

Her Royal Majesty, Queen Vickylextar, was presented with the Beijing Legacy for Global Advancement Award during a celebratory segment that underscored her visionary leadership and the Omanye Royal Kingdom’s profound commitment to creating a world where every individual has the opportunity to reach its full potential. The award recognizes her exceptional contributions to advancing women’s empowerment, gender equality, and gender harmony, principles that are central to the Kingdom’s mission.

Her Royal Majesty, Queen Vickylextar, a celebrated global leader, entrepreneur, and visionary, is a force for empowerment, ardently working to break down barriers and uplift communities. Her dedication to cultivating resilient and conscientious leaders is clearly demonstrated through her leadership, including in her role as the CEO of VertexWorld, a global provider of professional services spanning leadership development, change management, and psychological trauma care.

The evening resonated with a rich convergence of cultures, marked by the presentation of the national anthems of Nigeria and China, an inspiring testament to the event’s spirit of collaboration. Her Royal Majesty, Queen Vickylextar, in her acceptance speech, offered an eloquent discourse on the nuanced difference between gender equality and gender harmony, advocating for substantive collaboration and mutual empowerment as a path beyond simple parity. Her words struck a chord with the assembled guests, one of whom avowed that ‘her speech was the highlight of the night.’

Beyond the accolades, the ceremony functioned as a vital platform for networking and the forging of alliances. Among many others, HRM Queen Vickylextar connected with an array of impactful individuals, including Sarah Kazimi, an incredible and relentless visionary entrepreneur dedicated to supporting Afghan orphanages, and Dr. Abiola Thompson Tilley -Gyado, a fellow honoree recognized for her exceptional contributions in the improvement of children rights. The Queen also engaged with H. E. Queen Adolfina ‘Fine’ Cairo Brunswijk, wife of Suriname Vice President Ronnie Brunswijk and an instrumental advocate for the eradication of poverty in vulnerable communities, as well as Dr. Wale Idris Ajibade, a distinguished economist, professor, and visionary leader in sustainable development and philanthropy and founder of African Views. These emerging connections are poised to foster future synergistic efforts,  reinforcing a shared commitment to progress and magnifying the influence of the Omanye Royal Kingdom’s initiatives.

The event further distinguished itself by honouring other luminaries who have significantly advanced the cause of gender equality and sustainable development, including His Royal Highness Nana Otu Lartey, president of African Views Organization (Ghana), and Co- Founder of the African Royal Chamber of Commerce (Ghana), who was also in attendance and honoured recipient of a prize for his valuable contributions that have enhanced women’s economic empowerment and financial inclusion.

Far from a simple commemoration of past triumphs, The Beijing Legacy for Global Advancement Award ceremony served as an impassioned summons to action, inspiring all present to redouble their efforts toward a future defined by the ascendancy of gender equality and harmony. The Omanye Royal Kingdom, under the esteemed leadership of HRM Queen Vickylextar, remains dedicated to this vision, striving to create a world where every individual can thrive.
