Building on her dedication to promoting unity and reconciliation, HRM Queen Vickylextar’s participation in the Groundbreaking Maroon Symposium follows her impactful presence at Jamaica’s 286th Maroon Anniversary and Reconciliation Summit earlier this year. During this landmark event, Queen Vickylextar, alongside a multinational Royal delegation and in collaboration with AIDO Network International, addressed the 1738 Maroon treaty of Accompong.
The summit featured significant discussions led by Sir Dr. Hilary Beckles and saw the Maroon community leaders come together for healing and collaboration. Queen Vickylextar’s call for internal reparations and unity was a pivotal moment, resulting in a renewed commitment to a shared future. This symposium promises to further those conversations and build on the progress made, offering a platform for continued dialogue and celebration of Maroon heritage.
