OTTAWA, CANADA – May 24, 2025 – The Omanye Royal Kingdom hosted a private and vibrant celebration in Ottawa, commemorating UNESCO’s 2025 World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. This festive occasion also marked the significant advancement of the Kingdom’s visionary Centre of Excellence, a testament to its enduring commitment to global unity and human flourishing.
The event powerfully demonstrated the intrinsic link between the Centre of Excellence’s vital work and the spirit of UNESCO’s World Day for Cultural Diversity. This special day champions the idea that embracing diverse cultures is essential for dialogue, understanding, and sustainable development across the globe. For the Omanye Royal Kingdom, inherently multinational, multicultural, and multiracial, this celebration resonates deeply with its very essence and its guiding motto: “Together, we build.” The Centre of Excellence stands as a living embodiment of this vision, a global hub where knowledge thrives, cultures connect, communities unite, and mental well-being is nurtured.
The afternoon unfolded with heartfelt testimonies, illuminating the profound impact of the Centre of Excellence on individual lives. Baroness Iris, in her welcoming address, celebrated the Centre as a beacon of transformation, highlighting its tangible outcomes.
A beneficiary of the Omanye Hatchery program shared her remarkable journey to becoming a thriving professional. She spoke of rebuilding her life and skills from scratch, emphasizing the invaluable guidance and self-love she found through mentorship. “My dear father told me a few days ago, that he sees courage in me, and I think that’s true, because, I had to rebuild everything, just as a young child would,” she movingly recounted. Her story underscored the Hatchery’s profound ability to help individuals hone skills and become marketable.
Another beneficiary of several programs such as the Hatchery, the Gap Year and Sabbatical Academy, shared her transformative path from confusion and lacking direction to rediscovering her artistic passion and finding unwavering confidence. She spoke of the priceless confidence instilled by mentors. Her experience highlighted how the Academy provides a second chance at life and career redirection.
One of the speakers was a beacon of healing from the Restoration Centre. She bravely spoke of her battle with chronic depression and the profound healing she experienced. Her journey, initially marked by profound sadness and a feeling of being lost, culminated in wholeness, demonstrating the Centre’s power in addressing deep-seated trauma and fostering reconciliation. Her husband even noticed her remarkable transformation, choosing to engage with the Centre himself.
A highlight of the evening was also a beneficiary of the Restoration Centre. He articulated its unique essence with powerful closing words, worthy of the ovation they received:
“In a world full of noise and emotion, the restoration center creates a quiet but radical space, a space where people can confront truth with courage and come out on the other side with dignity and tact.”
He profoundly noted his own initial unawareness of needing restoration, recognizing its life-altering impact years later. This center focuses on trauma care and confidence building, leading to reconciliation with self and others.
Her Royal Majesty Queen Vickylextar, in her inspiring message, captured the boundless optimism of the Kingdom, declaring a quote she is famously known for saying: “the sky is just the beginning!” She emphasized the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to tangible progress: “As you all know, at Omanye Royal Kingdom, we back up our words with actions.” Her Majesty further stressed that every celebration, including this joyous occasion, is a testament to “the transformed lives, both within and those out there,” recognizing their far-reaching positive effects on communities globally.
