New York, NY – March 19, 2025 –  A delegation from the Omanye Royal Kingdom participated in the “Addressing the Gender Digital Divide in this AI Era” event held during the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69). This significant event, a collaborative effort by UNESCO, the African Union Commission, and UN Women, concentrated on devising strategies to bridge the gender digital divide in the evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence (AI).  

The Kingdom’s presence at this event underscores its firm commitment to fostering women’s leadership, facilitating financial inclusion, and ensuring that African women, including those in the diaspora, have access to economic and leadership opportunities within the digital sphere. This dedication aligns seamlessly with the Omanye Royal Kingdom’s core mission to connect communities and serve humanity, a mission driven by its foundational pillars of education, leadership development, and reconciliation.  

Omanye Royal Kingdom representatives engaged alongside a distinguished assembly of participants. This included ministers of gender and education from various member states, permanent representatives, UN agencies, civil society organizations, and development partners. The discussions centered on pioneering approaches and notable achievements in advancing gender equality within the technology and AI sectors. Key topics included encouraging girls and young women to pursue careers in STEM, safeguarding women’s rights in digital environments, challenging prevailing gender stereotypes, and cultivating supportive communities for women in technology.  

The delegation placed a high priority on networking to forge lasting partnerships and explore potential collaborations with development agencies and financial institutions. The aim was to expand funding opportunities for women’s entrepreneurship and economic independence. The event served as a vital platform for connecting with key stakeholders from ECOWAS, UN Women, and the African Union. This high-level dialogue facilitated the exchange of valuable knowledge and best practices. The Omanye Royal Kingdom reiterated its commitment to championing the role of women in technology and promoting a more inclusive workplace.
