A Grand and Royal Entrance
One thing that never disappoints in Omanye events, is the excellence in execution of all things. After guests were ushered to their seats, anticipation reached its peak with the Royal Procession: Flag bearers, Royal Executives and Royal Cabinet members entered the room and lined up at the front as everyone rose in respect.
Then, in an all-majestic entrance, Her Royal Majesty Queen Vickylextar stunned the crowd, followed by the Royal family and other Royals from the diaspora. Once the Queen was seated, the audience followed suit, the music fading into the background, signalling the beginning of an extraordinary evening.
After an introduction of Royals from the diaspora and other notable figures, the night was filled with stirring performances and serenades honouring the Queen and celebrating the Prince. The exquisite talents of dance troupe Artists in Motion were showcased in two captivating sets of an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary music.
Royal Knighting and Investiture
Another feature of this magnificent celebration was the knighting by sword of Royal Ambassadors and Executives. Madam Leelai M. Kpukuyou, Mrs. Lisa Saint-Georges, Mr. Emmanuel Coffie, Ms. Nancita Kapi, Mrs. Nina Coffie, and Ms. Sabrena Ossom were honoured for their exceptional contributions and dedication to the Omanye Royal Kingdom’s vision and mission and received the high honours of the titles of Ladies and Sirs.
Immediately after, Her Royal Majesty introduced her son, Prince Dr. Kendrick Carroll, during his Royal investiture, which was marked by the presentation of traditional regalia, including gold bracelets, necklaces, and a crown. The beautiful new Princess-in-waiting was also presented to all royal guests, as both were celebrated with a triumphant trumpet fanfare.
Community Awards followed, honouring members of the community who impact and elevate their peers and whose values align with those of the esteemed Omanye Royal Kingdom. This year’s recipients were Mr Moses Abayomi Pratt and Mrs Grace Udodong. Dr. Wale Idris Ajibade and His Highness Papa Paul Jones Eganda 1 joined Her Royal Majesty Queen Vickylextar to deliver the awards, and this segment of the evening was sealed with a surprise award to the Queen from Strive Mental Health, The Strive Stellar Leadership & Dedication Award, for her dedication to investing in others, helping in programs and leadership development. Grand Finale and Unveiling of the Cake
The evening’s pinnacle was the glorious unveiling of the birthday cake. A symbolic 50 cakes for 50 years were unveiled as the crowd serenaded the celebrants with a harmonious Happy Birthday song. The Queen, accompanied by her Royal household, danced towards the cake stage that supported several towers of cake and crystals, and each table later received a cake to also cut and share. This preceded one of the most beautiful moments of the night: the majestic performance of the Hallelujah Chorus by the Royal Household as a choir, directed by none other than the Queen herself. The evening concluded with a second procession to a traditional Ga dance, opening the vibrant dance floor, where guests engaged in the Electric Slide, cha-cha, and Jerusalem line dance, celebrating with fervent energy all night!
